Lectures

Appliqué, Miniatures and More  Elizabeth traces her development as quiltmaker, from her first quilt made in 1978, to the appliqué and miniature quilts that have become her specialty.  The emphasis is on showing and discussing real quilts, what inspired them and the lessons learned in making them

A Quilter's Love Affair with England Inspiration for quilt design comes from many directions and much of Elizabeth's inspiration has come from England.  Her travels there have resulted in a series of quilts  inspired by England’s countryside, decorative arts and ancient monarchy. Elizabeth shares her love for both quiltmaking and for England, illustrating with quilts and slides how one interest has nourished the other.

Small Wonders: Tiny Treasures in Patchwork and Appliqué  Elizabeth firmly believes that the best things really do come in small packages. In this lecture based on her book she shares her many small, traditional pieced and appliquéd quilts and explains the techniques she uses to create them.

Travel Arrangements
Travel cost by car is 50 cents per mile (or the approved federal mileage rate at the time of travel), plus tolls.  For longer trips, door to door transportation and airfare are the responsibility of the sponsoring group, as are housing and meals. I am happy to stay with a guild member, but do ask for a private room and bathroom in a non-smoking home. A hotel with interior room access is fine too. Guilds and/or shops often wish to share the travel costs for visiting teachers and I would welcome the opportunity to visit more than one group in your area.
