Elizabeth just loves to make quilts! Since making her first quilt in 1978 she has made more quilts than she can count and is always planning lots more. It helps that she likes to make miniature quilts - they get finished faster - but she makes a lot of large quilts too. Appliqué is her favorite part of quiltmaking, followed by hand quilting. She likes to piece on the machine to make more time for the handwork she loves.
Reflecting her interest in eighteenth and nineteenth century needlework and decorative arts, Elizabeth's original quilt designs are traditional in feel. A life-long Anglophile, Elizabeth's love for England and all things English has inspired many of her quilt designs. This England, Tudor Roses, Strawberry Fair and Teapot Traditions all got their start in hours spent happily quilting and dreaming about England. Her whitework quilt, This England, won the first prize for quilting at the 1993 British National Patchwork Championships, held at Althorp House, the family home of Diana, Princess of Wales.
